Cat 8 25G/40G Cable Assemblies

Sentinel provides a fully shielded Category 8 cable assembly solution. It uses dual shielded cable to assure superior EMI performance, both for radiated emissions and susceptibility. The connector is enclosed in a full die-cast shell, and each assembly is electrically tested to the Cat8 electrical requirements. The assemblies are fully backwards compatible to Cat5e/6 and 6A.

Class 1:

Cat6A FTP (2) inner shield / braids crimped into the C-clamp shield, with one inner aluminum shield, plus a 70% inner braid.

- Passes UL 444 Plenum Temperature Specification / MIL-STD 810G

Differs from Class 1, with the addition of an over-braid shielding layer, that includes two inner shields.

PoE

Sentinel Connector Systems offers the most extensive line of US-made plugs, along with various jacks and patch cords for Power over Ethernet (PoE) applications.

Our design incorporates isolation barriers between each conductor to ensure the plugs meet or exceed all of the power requirements for IEEE 802.3af (15W PoE), IEEE 802.3at (30W PoE+), IEEE 802.3bt Type 3 (60W PoE++) and IEEE 802.3bt Type 4 (100W PoE++).

Category 6A

Sentinel Connector Systems offers the most extensive line of RJ45 plugs and patch cords for Category 6A applications with the ability to terminate 22 AWG through 28 AWG U/UTP, F/UTP and U/FTP cables.

Plug designs are based on the insulated conductor OD’s and jacket OD’s to match the correct plug to the cable being used to ensure Category 6A performance. Per ISO/IEC 11801.6, Cat 6A is specified for multi-gigabit applications and is the defacto standard for healthcare (TIA-1179) and Education (TIA-4966).

HDBaseT

HD BaseT is a global connectivity standard enabling a single cable to carry multiple signals and power simultaneously. Power over HDBaseT is commonly referred to as PoH.

HDBaseT is a commercial connectivity standard for transmission of uncompressed, ultra-high-definition video, digital audio, DC power, Ethernet, USB 2.0, and other control communication over a single category cable (CAT 5e or better) up to 100 m (328 ft) reach (vs 15m with a typical HDMI cable), terminated using the same Sentinel RJ45 plug configurations that are used in other Ethernet networks.
